Torta supercioccolatosa vegan e...impressioni di Settembre - Super chocolate vegan cake and....impressions of September

"Quante gocce di rugiada intorno a me
Cerco il sole ma non c'e'
Dorme ancora la campagna, o forse no
È sveglia
Mi guarda
Non so

Già l'odore della terra
Odor di grano
Sale adagio verso me
Penso a te

Quanto verde tutto intorno
E ancor piu' in la'

Resta fermo come me
Faccio un passo
Lui mi vede, e' già fuggito
Respiro la nebbia
Penso a te

No...

I do not know why .. maybe' cause it's a wonderful February ... 'cause yesterday I was at a dinner, and on the terrace, I was in thin shirt and I was not cold at all but sort of excited by the cool tingling .... maybe' cause I cant understand whether it is spring or an autumn full of expectation ... or maybe 'cause it's the song that accompanied me since I was a child, and it knows how to give me yet intense emotions and a few tears certainly not of sadness but of pure emotion. It really touches me and makes me vibrate in a way I can not express in words, at the bottom of the chest and throat. The music and the minimal text, a perfect marriage. Hope you like it too.

And then well, maybe also because on the internet I could not find a decent translation into English! and this song deserves it....not a typical love song!

Google translator does NOT a good job (translates "slowly" as "floor"as, in italian, the same word can mean very different things....! and I said all....)

I wondered how to translate in English the word "Impressions." It 's obvious about feelings, emotions, vibrations, moods ... but not just that. To me, the song has almost pictorial impressions, or at least synaesthetic. The green, the silence, the fog, the sound of the step,  the seeping sun .... I prefer to leave the literal word, "impressions".

Here it is.

Impressions of September
"
How many drops of dew around me
I look for the sun, but there is not
The land is still asleep, maybe not,
is awake, watching me, I don't know.
Even the smell of the earth, the smell of wheat
rises slowly toward me
Life beats slowly in my chest

Breathing the mist, I think of you.
How much green all around and even further,

the grass looks almost like a sea,
and my thoughts fly slight and go...
I am almost afraid they get lost ...

A horse's neck tends to the lawn
remains as fixed as me.
I take a step, he sees me, he is already fled.
Breathing the mist, I think of you.
No... I do not know what I am now,
I am a man, a man in search of himself.
No.... I do not know what I am now,
I'm alone, I'm just the sound of my step.
But meanwhile the sun
already seeps through the fog
the day is dawning,

as always will be"

INGREDIENTS:

60 g unsweetened cocoa powder 100 g flour  1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of baking powder  (about 8 gr)
160 gr sugar
80 g apricot jam vanilla 150 g of soy butter (or, as I did, soft silken tofu)

175 gr soy milk1 tablespoon of soy butter and a little flour for the mold

To cover it: (opional)
100 gr white chocolate
100 gr soy cream

Mix the 60 g of cocoa powder, 160 g sugar, 80 g apricot jam and 150 g of soy butter (I used silken tofu) and vanilla extract. Then add 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder and the flour.

Soak it all with milk, put into the mold and level. Cook over very low heat in the oven for about one hour or more '(I have a gas oven and put it to a minimum, say 140 degrees to the max! probably less), The cake "dries" more than cooking, and will remain very humid inside and luxurious ... If you want you can also exaggerate and melt the white chocolate and the soy cream, and cover the cake which will absorb the liquid. But it is great without it, too! Enjoy!
